"Representative from industry to meet CM on June 2 praying for changes in GST"

A team of industrialists and entrepreneurs from Coimbatore would meet Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy on June 2 to submit a memorandum praying for necessary changes in the GST single window - tax system, which is coming into play said SP Velumani, Minister for Municipality and Rural Development.

Briefing the media after meeting with representatives of 54 industrial bodies such as CODISIA, SEMA, SAIMA, the minister said that a ten member team would represent their interests regarding taxation of products and services in their meeting with the Finance Minister on June 1 and Chief Minister of June 2.

The Government would take necessary steps to renovate Siruvani dam, which is one of the main sources of drinking water to the city and the grievances of farmers who have given their lands for the civil airport expansion project would be addressed. The minister said.

When reporters asked for his reaction to actor Kamalhassan echoing the sentiments of actor Rajnikanth as to the governance of the present Government, Velumani said that law and order situation in Tamilnadu is far better than other states. The actors who are criticizing the Government could live peacefully because of the good law and order system.
